Girlfriend Gatherings

Girlfriends!  Need I say more.   Spending time with the “girls” can make all the difference in the world.   I know for me, I am a better person after hanging out with my friends.  It could be as simple as having a friend come over for a quick cup of coffee or a chat on the phone.      The idea of Girlfriend Gatherings is to do something different, possibly something that would take you out of your comfort zone.  Have Fun!Below is a list of ideas for you and your girlfriends.  I have posted some of the fun gatherings I have hosted over the years.  Feel free to check them out to get your creative juices flowing.  Here’s to the Girls!!!

Girlfriend Gathering Ideas

 Staying Home

  • Pampering Party
  • Invite friends for a breakfast, lunch or dinner menu; don’t feel like cooking – host a potluck.
  • Have a Bunco night.  Bunco is a dice game that is all the rage for groups of 12 or more people (4 people per table/group).  The official Bunco rules and instructions on playing can be found online at http://www.worldbunco.com.
  • Host an MLM party (Tupperware, Cooking, Jewelry, Scrapbooking)  – This is not only a fun night to share with the girls but you will most likely be supporting a woman owned business as well.
  • Set up a Swap Night – swap childrens clothes, toys, games, your own clothing, pocketbooks, have a dinner swap.
  • Work on a project  - scrapbooking, gardening, cooking, sewing, quilting.

Going Out with the Girls

  • Spa – can keep it as simple as going for manicures together or a full blown day of treatments from your favorite spa.
  • Dine out (Pub, Diner, Fast Food or Dress Up and splurge), you can also switch it up by trying a new restaurant or eating Mexican, Greek, Japanese or going for fondue.  Kick it up a notch by going to a Karaoke bar, martini bar, comedy show, etc.
  • Fitness Fun – Tennis, running, bicycling, exercise class, go walking together
  • Learn something – meditation, organic foods, automotive class (something I think every woman should take- just my two cents), Join a book club.

Did you know there is a National Mom’s Night Out Day?  It is usually the third Thursday in March. For more information go to www.nationalmomsnightout.com.
